David Anselm Turner’s work is based on process and perception. His paintings are dynamic, with a gestural application and correction of oil paint that’s intuitive, sophisticated and nuanced. He is inspired by the many and converging concerns of the moment: memory, experience and identity. Turner studied at Middlebury College in Vermont, The Escola Massana in Barcelona and The Polish National Film School in Lodz. He has shown his work in Barcelona, Paris and Hong Kong. He has also been invited to screen his films at several major festivals around the world, including Cannes, Venice, Toronto and Los Angeles.  He has won grants from the Kosciuszko Foundation, The Vermont Studio Center, The Berlin Talent Campus, The French Consulate and Kansai Gaidai University. Turner currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
